G-Xchange, Inc. (GXI), a wholly-owned subsidiary and the mobile commerce arm of Globe Telecoms, a leading telecom service provider in the Philippines, provides m-commerce services under the brand name GCash. Transforming the ubiquitous cellphone into a mobile wallet it pioneered cardless and cashless purchases and payments at accredited retail establishments, utility companies, and schools. The service also enables a subscriber to do remote purchases of airtime credit and do domestic and international remittance. GCash’s partner network includes government agencies, national and local utility companies, rural banks, cooperatives, insurance companies, remittance companies, universities and national and local commercial establishments.

GCASH, Globe’s flagship M-Commerce service, was born from a simple goal of transforming a mobile phone into a wallet. With its launch in October 2004, GCASH has effectively given Globe and TM subscribers access to a cashless and cardless method of facilitating money remittance, donations, loan settlement, disbursement of salaries or commissions, and payment of bills, products and services, with just a text message.
