Savings Mobilization Seminar/Workshop

MABS conducted a four-day seminar/workshop to provide the MFU staff of the Center for Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD) Bank with the needed tools and techniques in developing, pilot testing, and marketing a microdeposit product. Twelve CARD Bank staff completed the seminar/workshop, which was held on August 15-18 at the CARD Training Center in Bay, Laguna.

During the preliminary session, participants performed an audit on CARD Bank’s existing deposit structure, performance, and practices. Its overall strengths and weaknesses, as well as projected opportunities and threats, were then assessed. The succeeding sessions discussed market research, product concept development, costing and pricing, product pilot test, and strategic marketing. At the end of the workshop, participants drafted an action plan, consisting of a market research plan and deposit targets based on the data and analysis from the workshop.
