MABS Service Providers (MSPs) Conduct MF Refresher Courses for Bicol, Visayas Banks

Eighteen participants from ten Visayas PBs completed a MF refresher course delivered by MSP Associated Resources for Management and Development Inc. (ARMDEV). The course was held on July 21-23 in Cebu City.

The course has classroom sessions on MF best practices, CIBI and cashflow lending, preventive and remedial measures in delinquency management, and portfolio analysis. The course highlighted the important role of the account officer in implementing the discussed best practices. Participants also learned how to read, analyze, and use MF reports as tools for planning and detecting fraud and delinquency. To supplement the lectures, the course had workshops that facilitated the participants’ ability to apply the course’s principles in real-life cases: credit folder analysis, cash flow case analysis, cashflow review techniques, and portfolio-at-risk report preparation and analysis.

Earlier, ARMDEV delivered this refresher course to the MFU staff of Valiant Bank, a seventh rollout bank with two branches in the Iloilo province. The course, held July 14 –16, was held at the bank’s Iloilo City branch. Thirty-one Valiant Bank MFU staff completed the course.
MSP Punla sa Tao Foundation conducted a three-day MF refresher course held July 15-17 in Naga City. Twenty-seven participants from seven Bicol Region PBs completed the course. The course started with an assessment of the banks’ current MF practices. The subsequent course sessions – MF best practices, cashflow lending, CIBI analysis, delinquency management, and a detailed discussion of the MIS and MABS reports - were used as references to give participants a more accurate assessment of their MF operations.
